OHS Band Earns Division I Rating!

OHS Symphony Band Earns Division I rating at MSBOA State Festival!

The Oscoda Area High School Symphony Band performed at MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association) State Band Festival on Friday, May 4 at Gaylord High School.  The band earned this privilege by qualifying in March at District Band Festival and earning a Division I (Superior) Rating.  

At the festival, the OHS Symphony Band performed, "Cluster, Fluster, Bluster March" by David Holsinger.  "Invocation and Dance" by Carl Strommen and "Terracotta Warriors" by Scott Watson.  The band also sight-read a piece of music.  All bands were judged in the areas of Tone, Intonation, Rhythm, Technique and Interpretation.
  
The OHS Symphony Band earned a Division I (Superior) Rating at Friday's festival.
